are the most versatile of British fruits. Their superb flavour makes them a
favorite eaten raw but cooked flans, tarts, pies and sauces produce memorable
desserts. They are excellent for freezing or making ice-cream and can be used
to flavour vinegar for an unusual salad dressing. They contain vitamin C, potassium
and carotene, ellagic acid and dietary fibre
